Eric started working on smartwatches in 2008 while on exchange studying industrial design at TU Delft. Back at the University of Waterloo, he formed a team to produce and market the inPulse smartwatch for Blackberry.
In January 2011 Eric was accepted into the prestigious Y- Combinator startup incubator in Silicon Valley, California, where he attracted several investors’ attention. The inPulse smartwatch was featured in the NYT, Wired and Popular Science.
Over the last year, living in Palo Alto, California, Eric and his team have succeeded in developing their next product, the Pebble smartwatch for iPhone and Android phones.
On April 11, 2012 the Pebble smartwatch was first publicly offered on the investment program Kickstarter, and backers have pledged a record of $10 million!
