Philipp Nattermann

McKinsey & Company

Philipp Nattermann is a Partner in the London office of McKinsey & Company where he leads the UK and Ireland Telecoms, Media and High Tech (TMT) H sector.  He has worked extensively with mobile & fixed telecoms, as well as media players in the US, Europe and Asia. In addition, he has worked with a range of TMT focused Private Equity player son strategy and portfolio company optimization.  In this role he also leads McKinsey’s EMEA TMT in Private Equity special initiative. Recent projects have included the following:

Developed the strategy for a VOD platform JV between three major TV networks in a European market

Developed the big data strategy for a leading B2B information services player and new commercial models

Developed the music catalogue strategy for one of the big four labels, focusing on new routes to market in the digital space, linkages to new releases and new consumer propositions

Developing a range of new advertising based entertainment services (for music, TV and other content)  for a European mobile operator to better monetize the existing customer base and introduce mobile data services to new customer segments

Developed digital strategy for a major European B2B and B2C publisher to address the decline of off-line advertising revenues

Supporting the M&A process and subsequent integration of Europe’s largest mobile reseller, focusing on overhead cost reduction, and aligning the brand and distribution channels

Mr. Nattermann holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Yale University.
